I am a 20-year resident of the Bay Area with a deep connection to the city of San Francisco and the natural beauty which surrounds it.  My areas of expertise include loans for the purchase and refinancing of condominiums, single-family homes, and 1- to 4-unit properties. I also specialize in financing for tenancies in common (TIC's).

Before working as a mortgage broker I earned an M.B.A. in Finance from George Washington University.  I then worked as an institutional investment consultant to large pension plans.  Later, I lived and worked in Taiwan coordinating production and international distribution for a nationally known mountain bike brand.  More recently, I spent several years working in technology, first with an e-commerce startup, and then consulting to e-commerce businesses.  I've been a mortgage broker for the last eight years.

My background in Finance allows me to clearly explain how mortgages work and how borrowing to purchase a home fits into my clients' overall financial picture.  Similarly, my experiences as a homeowner let me offer clients my personal perspective on mortgages and home ownership. 

In 1999 I became a one-third owner of a TIC (Tenancy in Common) in San Francisco.  I lived there for several years and then sold my unit after my partners and I converted the property to condominiums. Owning a TIC gave me a wealth of knowledge about this uniquely San Francisco form of ownership and led me to make TIC financing a specialty within my business. 

After selling my condominium in San Francisco I moved to Mill Valley, where I now live with my wife Jane and son Miller.

My goal is to structure a deal that fits each person's unique situation. To do so I pay close attention to a client's current financial situation as well as their long-term financial goals. I then oversee all of the financing details.  For a purchase, this means the client-realtor team can manage the other important elements of buying a home. For a refinance, this means my clients can rely on me for a smooth transaction.

As a homeowner I take pride in my community. I am a past Board member and active participant in Plan C, a local organization that strives to improve the quality of life for all San Francisco residents.
